10 days from Casablanca: Atlas Mountains Desert tour

Day 1: Casablanca – Beni Mellal – Ouzoud Waterfalls
The “10 days from Casablanca” will start from Casablanca to Ouzoude waterfalls, after visiting the Hassan II mosque, the Ain Diab coast … you will head to Beni Mellal and Ouzoud waterfalls. They are the highest in Morocco – about 110 meters -. You will explore the waterfalls while taking a walk in the region. Overnight at the hotel in Ouzoud.

Day 2: Ouzoud Waterfalls – Imilchil
After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful canyons of the Atlas. You will cross Tizi N’isly and descend to the village of Imilchil. It is a Berber Ksar suspended on the heights of the Atlas, leaning on the lake of “Tislit and Isli”. The legendary story of these two lakes is born from the tears of two lovers of rival tribes who refused their marriage. The inhabitants of “Ait Hdidou” celebrate an annual festival, which is an occasion for the marriage of young people of the Berber tribe. The night will be at the hotel in IMILCHIL.

Day 3: Imilchil – Todra Gorges
Today, you will leave Imilchil to the TODRA Gorge through Agoudal and Tamtatouche. You will enjoy panoramic views and Berber villages. You will reach the TODRA Gorge, whose cliffs reach 250 m above sea level. You will walk under the high cliff gorges. Lunch will be in a local restaurant. The night will be in a hotel in the gorge.

Day 4: Todra Gorges – Tamtatouchte – M’semrir – Kelaat M’gouna – Dades Gorges
After breakfast, your 10 days from Casablanca continue from the Todra Gorge to the Dades Gorge. You will go up to reach Tamtatouchet, from this village, you will arrive at the Gorges Dades passing by M’Semrir, and a runway staircase rises to 2800 meters. The descent of the gorge in a beautiful setting in the ruins of Kasbahs on rocky peaks makes the landscape more spectacular. You cross a succession of villages along the river to an inn where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Dades Gorges – Tizi N’tzazert – Nkoub – Zagora
Today, you will start along the fig valley towards Boumalne Dades, then take the track crossing the Tizi n’Tazazert pass. After, you will arrive in Nkoub where you will have lunch in a local restaurant. You then continue to Tansikht by entering the Draa Valley and its vast date palms. You cross the Draa Valley to Zagora. Dinner and overnight will be in a hotel in Zagora.

Day 6: Zagora – Tamagroute – M’hamid (night at the bivouac)
Your 10 days from Casablanca continue towards M’hamid. You will stop at Tamagroute Underground Village to visit the Koranic Library created in the seventeenth century which are preserved illuminated manuscripts of the Koran illuminated on gazelle skin and books of history and medicine. You can also visit the workshops on green pottery making as well as underground streets.

Then you will continue your 10 days from Casablanca through Ouled Brahim and Reg Elfaija to M’hamid, the last grove of the Draa and the beginning of the desert sand. You will reach the bivouac located a few kilometers south of M’Hamid in the middle of sand dunes. You will ride a camel to enjoy the sunset in the desert. Dinner will be served under the nomad tent at the bivouac.

Day 7: M’hamid – Foum Zguit – Taznakht – Ouarzazate
Today, you will continue your 10 days from Casablanca to Ouarzazate passing by IRIKKI Lake, a vast plateau of groomed sand. You will take the track in the stony landscape of Hamada Foum Zguit. Then you will take the road to Taznakht to arrive late afternoon in Ouarzazate. The night will be in a RIAD.

Day 8: Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech:
You will explore the city of Ouarzazate today by visiting the Taourirt movie studios and Kasbah. Then you will go to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This kasbah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in which many famous films have been shot such as The Mummy, Asterix, and Lawrence of Arabia.

Then you will continue your 10 days from Casablanca in Morocco through the valley of Ounila towards the huge kasbah ELGLAOUI built in the 19th century. It was once an indispensable strategic position for caravans connecting the sub-Saharan regions to the Mediterranean coast. Then you will continue your way via the Tizi N ‘Tichka pass (2260 m) to Marrakech where you will spend the night in the local riad.

Day 9: Marrakech (city tour guide)
You will explore today the city of Marrakech. You will visit the best places in this red city. You will explore the Menara, the Koutoubia minaret (the twin tower of the Giralda in Seville, Spain), and the tombs of Saadian, which consist of splendid mausoleums built in the sixteenth-century and majestic gardens. After lunch, we will explore the souk near the famous Jamaa Lefna Square. At night in a riad near Jamaa Lafna Square.

Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca
After breakfast, you will leave Marrakech for Casablanca airport. the end of the “10 days from Casablanca”
