Day 1 : Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Your “7 days tour from Ouarzazate” begins at 9 a.m. Our trusty driver picks you up from your hotel. But before we reach our destination Marrakesh, we’ll make a detour to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO world heritage site that has also served as a filming location for blockbuster movies like The Mummy, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia, and even Astérix. After that, we head towards via Tizi N’tichka pass, your comfortable overnight stay will be at a Riad close to the lively Jamaa Lafna Square.
Day 2: Marrakech (city-guided visit)
Let’s kick off the day with a guided tour of Marrakech! We’ll start at the beautiful Menara, where a stunning swimming pool surrounded by blooming flower beds reflects a gorgeous Moorish building. Then; the visit takes us to some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, like the Majorelle gardens, the Koutoubia Minaret (just like the Giralda tower in Seville, Spain),
and the incredible Saadian Tombs an architectural marvel from the Moorish era that was actually hidden behind walls until 1917! Day 3: Marrakech – Tizi N’tast – Taroudant
Your 7 days tour from Ouarzazate begins towards the Tizi N’taste pass. We cross the spectacular Moulay Brahim Gorges. Then, we head towards Asni passing at the foot of the mountainous massif of Toubkal culminating point of North Africa. The stop is forced to the mosque “Tinmel” to visit one of the historical monuments of the dynasty of Almoravides. You will cross the Tizi N’tast pass and descend to the Souss plain. You will Explore an exceptional view of the valley for taking photos. Continuation towards Taroudant through Ouled Berhil. The night will be spent in a typical riad.
Day 4: Taroudant – Taliouine – Taznakht – Zagora
Start from Taroudant to Zagora. We Visit Taliouine, the region of natural saffron. Possibility to visit Safran products workshops of local associations. Then, stop at Taznakht village, the region of Berber carpets the manufacture. The next stop will be Agdez village in the middle of Daraa Valley. Day 5: Zagora – Tamagroute – Tazarine – Alnif – Erfoud
Today, we make a tour of the underground village Tamagroute to see the workshops of traditional pottery. You will visit the magnificent library created in the 17th century. In the Bibliotheque, many manuscripts of the Koran illuminated are preserved and written on gazelle skin as books of history and medicine. We leave to Erfoud crossing the Tizi N’Dra pass to Tazarine and Alnif. Continue to the city of Erfoud where you will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 6: Erfoud – Rissani – Careers of the fossils – Merzouga
After a short visit to the city, then, we head to Rissani. It’s the economic center of the region and the former imperial city of Morocco named Sijilmassa. The lunch will be a special recipe of the region “PIZZA Berber”. We visit some historical monuments. – Start for the fossil quarry, the region of fossils used for marble manufacture. At the end of the day, we arrive in Merzouga where you will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 7 : Merzouga – Dades gorges – Ouarzazate
Today, We’re getting up early to catch the epic sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Breakfast is on the menu right after. Our next stop is the former imperial city of Morocco, “Rissani”. It’s a hub of historical monuments and an economic center for the Alaouite dynasty. You’ll be able to explore the lively local market and take in the sights.
Next up, we’re off to the famous Todra canyons, where you’ll take in the high cliffs and go on a picturesque walk. Lunchtime!
After we wrap things up, we’ll head on over to the Dades Gorge via the Route des Mille Casbahs where you’ll visit some impressive, restored Kasbahs. And that’s not all – we’re off to the beautiful Valley of Roses in Kalaat M’gouna, where you’ll visit local workshops to see products extracted from roses. Then, we continue to Ouarzazate.
